WEEK 1 INTRODUCING TO THE HISTORY OF CALL
What does CALL mean?
Computer – Assisted Language Learning (CALL) refers to any process in which the learners uses a computer to improve their language . It enables students communication and facilitate access to knowledge,dictionaries and other learning resources and increase exposure to learn and using the foreign language. It also improves motivation and confidence so students have a positive attitude towards CALL because it rduces the anxiety by providing a nonjudgemental,independent learning environment.The anonymity is preserved,students feel less pressured and they enjoy the learning experience.
History of CALL
CALL can be categorized into 3 main phases:

SYNCHRONOUS & ASYNCHRONOUS
Synchronous
Synchronous refers to a learning environment in which everyone takes part at the same time.It creates a face-to-face environment, where learners and teachers are all in the same place at the same time.Some examples of synchronous learning environments are having students who are watching a live streaming of a class take part in a chat and having students and instructors participate in a class via a web conference tool such as BlackboardCollaborate, Adobe Connect, WebEx, Skype, etc. These synchronous experiences can be designed to develop and strengthen instructor-student and student-student relationships, which can be a challenge in distance learning programs
Asynchronous
The opposite of synchronous is asynchronous. Most communication between computers and devices is asynchronous -- it can occur at any time and at irregular intervals.
WEEK 2 CREATING AND USING BLOGS IN TEACHING
Wiki
A wiki is a collaborative website which help student to get in touch via internet.It allows anyone to edit,delete,or modify the content that has been placed on web site.The wikis receive feedback and it organize information into topic .
Blog
Blog is in contrast more personal and blog organizes information in reverse chronological order .It helps student to develop subjectivity and explore their ideas in writing space,a sense of ownership is prevalent.

It is a service from google.inc.which provides discussions groups for sharing common interests.It is a good way to collobrate with co-workers,making it easy for teams to share their emails.

WEEK 7 PODCAST APPLICATIONS IN THE LANGUAGE LEARNING

English language podcasts are an excellent way to learn English quickly.It covers a broad range of topics encompassing nearly every facet of life.The format is very simple and deserves a round of applause, with a host who speaks engagingly for about five or six minutes on a particular topic. It aims to help the English language student improve their speaking skills and enhance their vocabulary.
